Message From The Principal (Delhi Sports School)

Dear Students and Parents,
It is my privilege to come on board of Delhi Sports School (DSS) as its founding Principal.

DSS has been developed by Delhi Sports University with a vision of creating an end-to-end sports ecosystem to integrate Sports with academics and motivate the young sports enthusiasts to develop a career in Sports (Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Boxing, Lawn Tennis, Shooting, Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling, Swimming).

Parents around the whole country face a difficult decision of letting their children pursue a career in Sports as the existing educational system is not flexible enough to balance sports with academics. However, DSS as Delhi Sports University’s first integrated school for Sports and Academics provides budding athletes with a unique platform to pursue sporting excellence.

This first of its kind co-educational school complex is developed with world class infrastructure and residential facilities, provides in-house training by specialised coaches, facilitates athlete monitoring system to enhance sports performance through scientific means and finally, enable exposure at national as well as international levels.

The opportunities offered at DSS provide nurturance for a well-groomed personality which is actively committed to Sports, Academics, Arts as well as Service. DSS is committed towards transforming young minds into strong, confident, wise men who will lead in the Sports arena in the world tomorrow.

About Delhi Sports School developed by Delhi Sports University/दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी द्वारा विकसित दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स स्कूल

Delhi Sports School is Delhi’s first fully residential school dedicated to sports which aims to facilitate students to achieve the highest level of excellence in their chosen sport and perform at major national and international sporting events. It will be operated and managed by Delhi Sports University. Students will be provided with world class sports infrastructure and training facilities in the 10 identified Olympic Sports. Sporting excellence among students will be nurtured alongside academics through a specialized sports integrated curriculum from grades VI to XII. The assessment of students will be based on their sporting performance along with the academics.

दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स स्कूल खेल के लिए समर्पित दिल्ली का पहला पूर्ण आवासीय स्कूल है जिसका उद्देश्य छात्रों को उनके चुने हुए खेल में उच्चतम स्तर की उत्कृष्टता हासिल करने और प्रमुख राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेल आयोजनों में प्रदर्शन करने में सुविधा प्रदान करना है। इसका संचालन और प्रबंधन दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी द्वारा किया जाएगा। 10 चिन्हित ओलम्पिक खेलों में छात्रों को विश्व स्तरीय खेल अवसंरचना और प्रशिक्षण सुविधाएं प्रदान की जाएंगी। कक्षा VI से XII तक एक विशेष खेल एकीकृत पाठ्यक्रम के माध्यम से शिक्षाविदों के साथ-साथ छात्रों के बीच खेल उत्कृष्टता का पोषण किया जाएगा। छात्रों का मूल्यांकन शिक्षाविदों के साथ-साथ उनके खेल प्रदर्शन पर आधारित होगा।

DSS will be affiliated to the Delhi Board of Secondary Education (DBSE) which has been given equivalence to CBSE by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

डीएसएस दिल्ली बोर्ड ऑफ सेकेंडरी एजुकेशन (डीबीएसई) से संबद्ध होगा, जिसे एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडियन यूनिवर्सिटीज (एआईयू) द्वारा सीबीएसई के समकक्ष दिया गया है।

Career Pathway/करियर के रास्ते

It is a first of its kind school-university integrated institution for excellence in Sports performance. Delhi Sports School will be undertaking scouting and grooming sporting talent from early ages to create a talent pool for the Delhi Sports University. Students from DSS will be able to continue their sporting and career path at the Delhi Sports University. Further career pathway including excellence in international sports training will be provided by DSU. Students will be well-trained to represent India on all major international sporting platforms including Olympics.

यह स्कूल खेल प्रदर्शन में उत्कृष्टता के लिए अपनी तरह का पहला स्कूल-विश्वविद्यालय एकीकृत संस्थान है। दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स स्कूल दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी के लिए टैलेंट पूल बनाने के लिए कम उम्र से ही प्रतिभाशाली विद्यार्थियों को तलाशने और तैयार करने का काम करेगा। डीएसएस के छात्र दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी में खेल और करियर की राह जारी रख सकेंगे। डीएसयू द्वारा विश्व स्तर पर उत्कृष्ट खेल प्रशिक्षण तथा करियर के अवसर प्रदान किए जाएंगे। ओलंपिक सहित सभी प्रमुख अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए छात्रों को तैयार किया जाएगा।

6th - 7th	Academics/शैक्षणिक	Customized sports-integrated academic curriculum which will majorly focus on sporting performance. अनुकूलित खेल-एकीकृत शैक्षणिक पाठ्यक्रम जो मुख्य रूप से खेल प्रदर्शन पर केंद्रित होगा।
6th - 7th	Sports training/खेल प्रशिक्षण	Intake of 6th and 7th will be in two categories:/छठी और सातवीं का इंटेक दो कैटेगरी में होगा: Specific Sports/विशिष्ट खेल: Students who have performed professionally in Badminton, Table tennis, Lawn tennis or Swimming, can select the specific sport based on their performance record. बैडमिंटन, टेबल टेनिस, लॉन टेनिस या स्विमिंग में पेशेवर प्रदर्शन करने वाले छात्र अपने प्रदर्शन रिकॉर्ड के आधार पर विशिष्ट खेल का चयन कर सकते हैं। Generic Sports/सामान्य खेल: Students who have not performed professionally but have the potential can opt for the ‘other sports’ category and choose from any of the remaining sports - Archery, Shooting, Athletics (including track and field), Wrestling, Boxing and Weightlifting. जिन छात्रों ने पेशेवर प्रदर्शन नहीं किया है, लेकिन सक्षम हैं, वे 'अन्य खेल' श्रेणी का विकल्प चुन सकते हैं और शेष किसी भी खेल - आर्चरी,शूटिंग, एथलेटिक्स (ट्रैक और फील्ड सहित),रेसलिंग, बॉक्सिंग और वेटलिफ्टिंग में से किसी एक को चुन सकते हैं।
8th-9th	Academics/शैक्षणिक	Customized sports-integrated academic curriculum which will majorly focus on sporting performance. अनुकूलित खेल-एकीकृत शैक्षणिक पाठ्यक्रम जो मुख्य रूप से खेल प्रदर्शन पर केंद्रित होगा।
8th-9th	Sports training/खेल प्रशिक्षण	Students will select their primary sport from the 10 identified Olympic sports i.e. Archery, Shooting, Athletics including track and field, Wrestling, Boxing, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Weightlifting and Swimming based on their performance records. छात्र अपने प्रदर्शन रिकॉर्ड के आधार पर 10 चिन्हित ओलंपिक खेलों यानी आर्चरी,शूटिंग, एथलेटिक्स (ट्रैक और फील्ड सहित),रेसलिंग, बॉक्सिंग, बैडमिंटन, टेबल टेनिस, लॉन टेनिस, वेटलिफ्टिंग और स्विमिंग में से अपने प्राथमिक खेल का चयन करेंगे।

Eligibility Criteria for admission in Delhi Sports School for academic session 2023-24/ दिल्ली स्पोर्ट्स स्कूल में प्रवेश के लिए योग्यता शैक्षणिक सत्र 2023-24 के लिए

Class 6th-7th/कक्षा छठी-सातवीं

Age Limit (as on 30th September 2023)/आयु सीमा (30 सितंबर 2023 तक):
6th / कक्षा छठी: 11-13 years / 11-13 वर्ष
7th / कक्षा सातवीं: 12-14 years / 12-14 वर्ष
The student must have passed the class previous to the one they are applying for.
विद्यार्थी जिस कक्षा के लिए आवेदन कर रहे हैं, वह उससे पिछली कक्षा में उत्तीर्ण होनी चाहिए।
When asked for, students should be able to produce the relevant documents in support of their participation/ achievement in the chosen sport, wherever possible.
मांगे जाने पर विद्यार्थी चुने हुए खेल में अपनी भागीदारी/उपलब्धि के समर्थन में प्रासंगिक दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत करने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।

Class 8th-9th/कक्षा आठवीं-नौवीं

Age Limit (as on 30th September 2023)/आयु सीमा (30 सितंबर 2023 तक):
8th / कक्षा आठवीं : 13-15 years / 13-15 वर्ष
9th / कक्षा नौवीं : 14-16 years / 14-16 वर्ष
The student must have passed the class previous to the one he/she is applying for.
विद्यार्थी जिस कक्षा के लिए आवेदन कर रहे हैं, वह उससे पिछली कक्षा में उत्तीर्ण होनी चाहिए।
The student must have performed in the chosen sport and should be able to produce relevant documents whenever required.
विद्यार्थी द्वारा उनके चुने हुए खेल में प्रदर्शन होना चाहिए तथा वह प्रासंगिक दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत करने में सक्षम होना चाहिए।
